A/N: Double drabble. Set in my ‘Ghost of a Chance ‘Verse.
It had taken a while, but after more than a year of travelling around the universe in their cargo ship, transporting various goods to wherever they needed to go, Ianto now felt quite comfortable with space travel. He’d even learned to navigate, pilot the ship, and handle negotiations with prospective clients. Jack said he was proud of how quickly Ianto had picked everything up, which was flattering. Even now, however, there were some things that were difficult to get his head around.
Here they were, way out in the black, drifting thanks to a minor glitch in the vortex drive, which Jack had stopped to fix, and there was someone knocking on their door. Literally. Someone was outside the forward airlock, knocking on it and requesting admission.
Ianto got on the radio. “Uh, Jack?”
“What is it, Ianto? I’m kinda busy.”
“There’s… someone at the door?”
“Oh! That was fast. I’ll be right up. Just open the outer airlock hatch and I’ll take it from there.”
“But… who is it?”
“Engineer. I hoped we might be close enough to one of the repair facilities for a callout.”
“But… we’re lightyears from anywhere!”
“Interstellar Rescue Services pride themselves on their efficiency.”
