Double Drabble: Headwind

Summary: Rift retrievals have to be carried out right away, whatever the weather.

A/N: Double drabble.
The weather never kept Torchwood from doing their job of protecting Cardiff’s residents from the objects and creatures that came through the Rift, but sometimes it made their lives damned difficult.
Today’s forecast, which Ianto had checked first thing that morning, as he always did, had promised dry weather and light winds. Well, it was certainly dry; the clouds overhead were moving too fast to drop their contents on the city, and the light wind was more like a gale. If it blew much harder, it could qualify as a hurricane.
It might not have been quite so bad if it had been a tailwind, pushing them forwards, but instead it was slamming into them head on. Tosh had already been blown off her feet once, and was now clinging to Jack to stay upright, and Gwen had a death grip on Owen, although it was hard to tell which of them was holding the other up. Ianto was having to manage on his own.
So much for a quick trip out and back; at the rate they were going, it would take all day to reach the coordinates, and whatever had come through had probably already been blown away.
