A/N: Double drabble.
Torchwood’s SUV was supposed to be pretty much indestructible. It needed to be as robust as possible just to cope with the various kinds of terrain it got driven over. It wasn’t just motorways and well-paved city streets, it was potholed backroads, rubble strewn wasteland, rutted tracks in the countryside, moorland where rocks and rabbit holes lurked between patches of bracken… An all-terrain, four-wheel drive utility vehicle was essential for Torchwood since it often needed to traverse ground that would reduce lesser vehicles to scrap.
So, it was tough as anything short of a tank could be, and should have been able to hold up under any conditions, even if a ten-tonne alien sat on it, which had actually happened once, and yet…
Ianto frowned as Jack backed the Range Rover into the underground garage then steered it into its usual parking space before shutting off the engine and getting out.
“Ah, Ianto, you’re here. Excellent!”
“You said to meet you in the garage. Do you need help with something?”
“You might say that.” Jack handed his lover the gear-lever. “Can you fix this? It came off in my hand, I had to drive all the way back in reverse.”
