My first reaction when I started watching the Fall was to laugh out loud. Okay, okay, I know it's a serious drama about a serial killer in Belfast and the detective superintendent who chases him, but seeing Scull...Stella in the show opening, cleaning her bathroom in her PJ with a freaking FACE MASK on, was like greeting an old friend home. Okay, the face mask was blue not green, but hey, close enough. I was expecting the camera to shift and see our Mulder lying on Sc...Stella's bed patting the mattress with a smirk. My brain - it finds ways to amuse me.
The character is quite Scullian, a no nonsense driven loner - except for her dating technique which had me go: "wait...did she just? Srsly?!" *floorjaw*
I can't tell you how good it felt to see Ms Anderson on screen again, not as part of an ensemble cast, not as a guest star, not in some obscure fringe cinema affair, but in a proper leading role. When was the last time this happened? Straightheads?
Hearing Stella utter the word "forensic" got me all "awwww" and nostalgic. *sniffs*
Scully never got rid of journalists like this though, teehee.
I'll even refrain from whining "Ugh, why does she have to be blonde?" Like I usually do, because this character is made of kick-ass awesome.
Oh and the story is very creepy and very good, and that chap from OUaT is brilliant. Tons of reason to watch.
