Celebrating the wins

Feb 13, 2019 21:26

Today has been an awesome day to be a llama.

A supplier sent me a belated Christmas/thank you gift - a £25 all4one gift card. Made me feel pretty fantastic. And, it's accepted in Primark. I've been feeling really fucking bored of my work clothes lately - nothing is "sparking joy" so I'm thinking that £25 will go a long way in Primark to getting myself a new work wardrobe. Even just some new trousers, some tops and a dress will be awesome.

We had our quarterly Finance team brief and our FD's message was all about celebrating the wins. We've got a lot of unknowns in the coming weeks with Brexit, we have more contingency plans than we know what to do with. So the FD went through each section in finance, highlighted all our wins and successes in 2018. And then Accounts Payable won the '2018 celebration award' for all our perseverance with the... issues we've been having with the new processing team in India, for keeping all our suppliers paid and keeping the business running. He hands out bottles of wine to everyone - and a tub of Celebrations to me! :D

I've been trying, this week, to focus on my successes each evening so having it celebrated in work today made me feel like it's definitely a good thing. I'm trying to ignore the little voice that's pointing out all the shoulds and focusing on my achievements. I'm about done on my ability to Do Stuff - but this today:
I didn't kill or stab anyone.
I went to Tesco forgot to get spread at the weekend
I sorted out car insurance my renewal quote came in at over £500. I think not. Did one price comparison site, got a quote for £400. Rang existing insurer and told them where to stick their renewal. Did a couple more comparisons and got a quote for £280. Yes, yes I think so. Thank you.
I cooked, I ate frozen burger, instant mash, frozen peas & sweetcorn.
I've now managed to eat 3 meals a day for 3 days running. Current plan is if I manage that for the rest of this week, the weekend and next week, then the week after that I'll start being more careful about what I eat and counting calories and nutrients. If, however, that starts stressing me out again? I stop.
I emptied the fridge of science experiments
I did laundry
I did 2 out of 3 rounds of physio exercises and can I say the difference just three days of doing physio exercises 3 times a day is already making? I managed to bend and straighten my leg 10 times. It wasn't bent very far, but yesterday I could only manage 6. The last two clams were a KILLER but I managed 10. On Monday, I managed three

Tomorrow I would like my successes to include dishes and finishing the Sam/Janet PWP, it's very close to being done. But I'm not going to write a to-do list, I'm going to see what my energy levels are like when I come home and see which jobs are the ones that make themselves known to me.

house, life, work, success
