I had my first proper session at the gym this evening with my personal trainer. I was really nervous about going - kinda afraid the trainer would be 'gymbunnybarbie' but she wasn't. She was.. well basically what I'd like to be - slim but not skinny and gently toned. Also, her name is Paula and she has purple hair!
We sat down, took my stats and DUDE I rather love the scales at my gym. Because according to them, I'm down to 182lb exactly *twirls* Also, my BMI is down to 'overweight' rather than 'obese' or 'morbidly obese' so yay (We'll ignore how I don't give any stock to bmi). My blood pressure and resting heart rate are within normal boundares (129/80 and 71 respectively). My body fat percentage is high though at 32.8%
So yes, Paula and I went through my goals (get fit, tone up, strengthen legs) and worked through all my joint issues and mobility restrictions and we came up with a nice programme to do. Then we ran through it form start to finish and I dropped down ded.
My poor legs they ACHE
I start by warming up on the treadmill. 10 minutes at a speed of 5 and an incline of 3
Then I stretch
Then it's 10-15 minutes on the evil machine of evilcrosstrainer at a level of 7, ramp of 5 and a stride rate of between 100-120
I move on to weights then, starting with the Leg Press, 3-4 sets of 10-12 reps at 20kg
Abdominator, 2-3 sets of 15-20 reps at 15kg
Chest Press, 2-3 sets of 15-20 reps at 15kg
Then I go back to a bit more cardio with 10-15 minutes on the upright bike, level 7-8 and an rpm of 65-75
Then it's back to the weights, and the Abductor, 2-3 sets of 15-20 reps at 20kg
Aductor, 2-3 sets of 15-20 reps at 20kg
Arm Extendor 2-3 sets of 15-20 reps at 15.5kg
Arm Curl 2-3 sets of 15-20 reps at 5kg
Vertical Traction 2-3 sets of 15-20 reps at 25kg (and god that one feels good n all those tight muscles in my back/shoulder)
Then I finish off with a 5-7 minute cooldown on the treadmill at a speed of 3.5 before stretching out.
Repeat 3-4 times a week. Ideally every other day. Unless my knees are aggravated.
Because I'm sure you really wanted to know all that x.x
