I feel like if I were really on top of this, I'd have some fancy graphic banners or something, but I don't. Here's what I have: stolen interweb pics!
I hope that doesn't bore you?
My favorite thing about watching old shows on DVD, is judging the Pilot episode with the standard: If I had watched this in real time, would this have been a good enough episode to make me tune in again? I do think with VM, that the Pilot is a very strong episode and it sets up the series really well, and I think I would have watched more if I'd had UPN back in the day. I mean, it's a hell of a lot stronger than the TVD Pilot, but it's no LOST, you know? Pretty good, not epic.
Also, I should point out, on my DVD, there is the "extended edition" of the Pilot, so I have no idea what is different about it than the actual televised version.
Things I always think:
[+] Duncan is less sexy version of Shane West.
[+] Weevil is my favorite. Especially his eyelashes.
[+] You know Logan called her 'Ronnie' because she told him once how much she hated it.
The only thing I hate:
[+] Veronica's flashback wig. It's awful.
My favorite lines:
Veronica:
Every school has an obligatory psychotic jackass. He's ours.
I'm on a schedule here, vato.
Be cool, Sodapop.
Lilly:
I've got a secret. A good one.
Keith:
Who's your daddy?
Weevil:
After that, we come for you, your boy, and your little dog, too! (The leader of the motorcycle gang is quoting The Wizard of Oz. I mean, for real.)
Wallace:
And what a fine table it is. What do you suppose it's made of? [*knock, knock*] Oak?
You're a marshmellow, Veronica Mars. A Twinkie.
I suddenly feel like I'm in a scene from The Outsiders.
The best part about the Weevil/Logan/Veronica confrontation scene is how much MORE is going on in it. I mean, Weevil is beating Logan's ass on account of Lilly, and Veronica is flinching on account of knowing Logan has a right to be angry, and they 'used to be friends,' you know? It's just SO GOOD, on rewatch, when you know what's going on.
Your turn. Thoughts, feelings, diatribes? Have at it!
