I just have this serious pet peeve for people who change canon character's sexualities to suit their own needs. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind if a canon character is gay, or bi, or straight, or anything else beyond. It just bugs me if the character is stated to be straight, or hell, even gay, and the person decides that this sexuality isn't working into their plans.
I actually have no problems with this, though I respect it isn't your cup of tea. I think the issue being stated is that the RPer clearly states "Does NOT like men" yet is "Bi-sexual"... so unless that means something I don't even WANT to state, talk about not listening to oneself.
There's a difference, though, between "character experiences events or interactions with other characters that makes them question how they self-identify, and explores new possible sexual identity with as much or as little caution as would be IC" and "lol characterization what characterization? They'd be hott!"
If you (general you) can't play a character coming out or having their interests shift in a tasteful or realistic manner, yeah, some of us would rather you consider your character's sexuality as set in stone. It'd cut down on the number of facepalm-induced concussions.
Ah. I agree in that I'm always frustrated when a character that shows only heterosexual inclinations in canon is instantly paired in a homosexual partnership, especially when the player treats it as if the character has been bisexual or exclusively homosexual all along.
If canon is clear about a character's sexuality or a certain couple, I am in the group that---outside of an AU, or with an RP-er who knows what the hell they are doing---would prefer the character stick with that sexuality.
Because outside of a rare few instances, people who changed the character's sexuality were only in it for their own cruddy wish fulfillments. And they did it -badly-.

But I do not discriminate against just canons. If they do the same thing with OC's, I get a rifle.
State the sexuality---the actual sexuality (unless it is, you know, AU or something)---and stick with it. No changing for wish fulfillments.
