Ugh

Dear Mr. Idiot,

There is a reason we haven't invited you to into our last 2 Rifts campaigns. The reason is that you don't know how to role-play. When the GM asked you for one or two character concepts, you handed him a list of race/class in very bizarre combinations. I'm sorry, but "Grackletooth Ley Line Walker" is not a character description.

In a RP group that is heavy on the first-person description and in-character dialogue, your love of 'roll'-playing just doesn't cut it. Role-playing shouldn't always be about who has the flashiest, most original, interesting character. Sometimes it's okay to play a human.

Also, when you tell people that you've been role-playing for nearly thirty years, you're not telling the truth. Sitting alone in your apartment with your RPG books, and rolling up characters is not the same as playing. You've only been in about a dozen campaigns. So maybe you should take the hint, and start learning what it actually means to role-play. Maybe then people will like gaming with you, and actually invite you into their games.

And I'm not saying there's anything wrong with a combat-heavy, story-light game from time to time. But most of the games in our gaming group are very story-intensive, and you're just not good at it. So when you ask me why I haven't invited you into my HP Savage Worlds game that is so completely story based that we only roll for combat situations about once every five or six sessions, the answer is that you suck at role-playing!

Love,
Joyful
