Penelope had spent the afternoon reading, that was until a couple phone calls interrupted the peaceful quiet of her day. So of course she returned them, mildly confused, but determined to put her mind at ease once more.

It was a rare kindness to find that leaving and coming back, hadn't changed a thing. Mostly her relationship with Hurley. No questions were asked; they were simply a couple again and she for one, couldn't be more thankful.

With Joan kind enough to lend Penelope the room for the evening, she'd set it up rather nicely for her picnic and movie night with Hurley. There were candles lit in various vantage points, and a comfy blanket with big fluffy pillows neatly arranged on the floor. Penelope had had an exhausting phone conversation with her mother. Yes she would be home in two weeks. No she would not be staying longer than a week. Penelope wasn't sure what to think about radio. Not about her, but about Hurley and K-Mart. It shouldn't settle awkwardly in the pit of her stomach because she and Hurley certainly weren't dating. She had no right to feel things or... think things.

Penelope had been exuberant throughout her day. Last night was amazing and her date even more so. She hoped this evening would be just as amazing.

Dressed in red for the occassion, she checked over Hurley's Valentine gift one last time. She hoped he liked what she did for him.

Penelope skipped out on all of the football festivities and while she'd seen the girlkissy party, there was no way she could have gone and been comfortable.

So she'd spent the day on her bed, reading and writing in her journal.

The door was closed but knockable.

With nothing to do, Penelope took the time to look after her plants. Watering and feeding them as they required. She also spoke softly to them because she firmly believed it helped spurt their growth and altogether provided the well-being they deserved. A happy plant was beautiful.

Penelope was ready for her date with Hurley, if not nervous. It was a real date. The first ever where a guy actually asked her out. And he didn't seem to care that she was engaged which, of course, meant everything.

Possibly she should care that she was engaged and agreeing to go on a date. Personally she felt everyone was entitled to a bit of fun.
