Penelope was ready for her date with Hurley, if not nervous. It was a real date. The first ever where a guy actually asked her out. And he didn't seem to care that she was engaged which, of course, meant everything.

Possibly she should care that she was engaged and agreeing to go on a date. Personally she felt everyone was entitled to a bit of fun.
