So for the therapuetic riding program I work at I have to do the arena theme for a week. The indoor arena is about 100'x200'. Usually there is an obstacle course and 4 or 5 posters hung up for the Theme of the Week. I was assigned "Horses Come to America" as my theme. I feel so horrible. I had my first student fall off today. This little boy was trotting with a hoop and he (probably accidentaly) hit the pony with the hoop and the horse spooked and turned. The boy lost his balance and was caught by his side walker before he landed. We were going to put him right back on since he was physically fine and he wasn't ( Read more... )

I start my new job as an instructor tommorrow. I am nervous but at the same time I know it will be fine. I looked at the files for most of the riders yesterday. I have two hours I am the lead instructor for but it really three seperate lessons because one group is two half hours with the riders switching in the middle of the lesson. I got an official Therapuetic Riding Instructor Job as of today. With official hours and a Uniform shirt and filling out Tax forms and everything! *does a super happy dance* I am now teaching at High Hopes =D
