Mmm....Foie Gras

It's not often that I get to celebrate Father's Day with my dad. Ever since I was a little girl, he has almost always been in a different country whenever Father's Day (and even his birthday) comes along. This year though the whole family was in Singapore so we (Merrill, me and my sister) ended up getting him a wallet from Ermenegildo Zegna to replace his worn out wallet of god knows how many years as well as going for the brunch at Melt the World Cafe at Mandarin Oriental.

This was our first time at Melt and I have to say that everyone was suitably impressed when we saw the huge variety of food on offer the moment we walked in. The quality of food did not disappoint either. Anyway I couldn't be bothered taking photos of the whole buffet offering (and neither could Merrill) so I just took photos of my favourite, the foie gras station! I love love love foie gras and the foie gras station was a big part of why Merrill and I chose to do brunch at Melt.

If I could choose what to eat for my last meal, pan seared foie gras would definitely be on the menu

A whole tray of melt in your mouth, artery clogging goodness

While it certainly wasn't the best I've had, it was still pretty decent considering we were at a buffet after all. Merrill and my dad only ate a piece each coz it was so rich but the ladies all had 3 pieces each, even our domestic helper who was having it for the first time. Auntie June, our family friend who came along for lunch, had 6 pieces!!! Anyway I'll definitely be happy to head back to Melt for their brunch but next I want to try the Dolce Vita brunch which is also eat all you want but a sit down and be served affair instead of buffet style.
