Last Christmas we kissed for the very first time, last Christmas you kissed me for the very last time.
In the morning you said you were drunk, laughing, not remembering how we ended once again sleeping together like when we’re children.
I know and it hurts so much.
This Christmas I’m keeping my distance but you still catch my eyes. I’m drinking too much as you do. Your eyes catch mine, you smile and I know I’ll fall again.
“I love you” I whisper against your warm lips knowing you’ll have forgotten in the morning.
But for tonight you’re mine.
