No phone calls during the night so I got up and did my usual morning routine, minus the breast pumping - I'm really getting tired of pumping. Kudos to all the moms out there who pumped long-term.
I walked to Liz's house and we hung out at her place for a couple of hours, going over birth skills and such. A mama called and thought she might be in early labour; another mama who lives out of town and goes fast when labour finally kicks in. So, we changed into our scrubs and decided to go to Target which is sort of on the way out of the city towards this mama's place, in case she called us to come.
Liz took me for lunch to the Mongolian Grill - very good food and a really interesting place to eat. There's a long buffet-style table of fresh vegetables, meat and noodles. You pick the size of bowl you want and then fill it up with anything you want, dump on a bunch of sauce (several to choose from) and then hand it to one of the cooks at the end of the line. They have a large round grill and two cooks who toss your bowlfull of meat and veggies on the grill and toss it back and forth, walking around in a circle while they do it and then they put it back in your bowl to eat. They give you free bowls of soup and white rice to eat with your meal. I had chicken with noodles, celery, onions, broccoli, cabbage, green peppers, carrots, water chestnuts, mushrooms, mini corn, red onion, and bamboo - so yummy!!
We stopped in at a Children's Place Outlet store and I resisted the temptation to buy a pile of clothes for Julia and Charlotte. Such cute stuff, seriously. Then, on to Target! I love Target so much. I could be persuaded to move to the US just for Target and Diet Coke with Splenda. Love, love, love. I picked up a few little things for Jack and the girls, some not-so-exciting necessities for me, a novel, etc.
I obviously can't show what I got for Jack, Julia, and Kim because they see my blog, but this is what I found for Charlotte:
Angel "robeez" !! They're purple, they have angels on them, and I love them!
These are my favorite cups for Charlotte and I haven't been able to find them at home so when I saw them at Target I bought two more. She already has an orange one at home.
And this board book about rainbows.
With each page, a colored ribbon pulls through from the back of the book...
There's a colored ribbon on each page (as I'm turning to the 'blue' page)...
Until all the colors are there! So pretty, and I know Charlotte will love it.
And yes, these are for meeeeeeee. We have mint oreos at home but not double stuf mint oreos. Notice the package is still unopened? Maybe they'll make it home, maybe not ;-)
Now, bring on the babies!!
