good things

There are days when I'm ready to throw in the towel, pack my bags, and get on the first bus out of town.  But there are plenty of wonderful things that keep me here, including:

* Julia's sticky litlte hand in mine while we watched a movie at the theater this afternoon
* Eating the blueberry waffles that Kim made for all of us this morning.  She even left the blueberries out of two of them, just for Julia.
* Jack, who went out in -30 temperatures, and drove all the way to the store just to fulfill my craving for a coke zero.
* Julia's skinny little arms hugging my arm *tight* when I told her we would make Christmas cookies together this weekend.
* Seeing Jack patiently walk around the family room with a very grouchy baby, catching glimpses of the hockey game every so often.

An Over-The-Top package of gifts from
maine_girlincluding two new pairs of
Baby Legs/Huggalugs, a BBO Mei Tai baby carrier, Roger's chocolates for MEEEEE,
and some adorable little knitted boots for Miss C :-)  A more than generous token of
appreciation for the diapers I passed on to her!

I've worn Charlotte on my back several times in the Mei Tai now, and she falls asleep
every time!  I love being able to wear her on my back; now I must master wearing her
on my back in the Moby!

Charlotte has started closing her mouth and clamping her gums together and when
she cries, so it's sort of a muted hmmmmmnnnnnng sound.  When she does this,
her cheeks become squishy little orbs of cuteness that I *must* smoosh with
kisses.

She has also started reaching out for my face when I stand her on my lap, then
she either squishes my face with her hands, or she moves in for a slobbery kiss :-)

(And, just for me to remember) as soon as I put Charlotte on her back, she immediately rolls over on to her stomach, then she'll put her head down and draw her legs up so that she's almost on her knees!  She can squirm around pretty good on her belly, turning complete circles and skooching back and forth.  It's fun to see her learn to do new things, but I don't want her to grow up so fast!
