First two weeks of the semester down and I think I did pretty good on the exam. It was through the grace of God I made it through the week though, lol. My managers made severral schedule changes and I was working the lead cooks shift, which is the retail cook position. I managed to get a ton of work done today, as I was horribly behind on homework and need to write an essay for my counselor. I'm pretty tired after doing all this, my work schedule was pretty screwed up and I ended up staying up 24 hours straight on Tuesday. Fortunately I'm current on my homework now. So it seems as though one of our temp workers(the one I was hired to replace mind you) can't work under doctor's orders. She slipped and fell in our walk-in fridge. Working seven days this week, as I transition into the new job. I'm very, very tired. Good God, you wouldn't believe the number if typos I had to fix in these three sentences. Time for bed.

Signed up for the for a seminar at the college. It should be interested and useful. I'll also be signing up for the fall semester, so I'll be back in college. I'm very excited as I don't want to be a cook for too much longer.

I'm so freaking tired. One of my co-workers is going on vacation so my schedule's changing and because of this change I had to pick up an extra day this week. So, with the announcement of a friend's new position it has inspired me to try harder.  I want to advance my skill, continue to grow, and become worthy of the title "Chef". Though I don't want to be in the kitchen forever, this is a craft I am passionate about.

So after reviewing my check stubs I've found that my place of employment didn't report my first two checks to the IRS. There were no taxes held from those two check. In fact my third pay stub, which actually looks like a regular pay stub with both state and federal taxes withheld ( Read more... )

So, I like my new job, though I do feel sorry for some of the residents. I didn't like the sneaky, back-biting attitudes, and politics of the Pavillions I was working at, so I applied and got hired at an adult care facility. It's a drop in pay, but my hours are much better(the latest I'll beat work is 5:30pm), it is more conductive of me continuing ( Read more... )
