6 Day Work Week

Jun 03, 2010 14:03

I'm so freaking tired. One of my co-workers is going on vacation so my schedule's changing and because of this change I had to pick up an extra day this week. Granted that I enjoy working at this place, working five day is extremely exhausting and stressful. Well, I have 96 hours for this coming check. Yay?

I'm not sitting around and doing nothing. At least the extra cash will go towards paying off more of the deposit on our place, and keeping other bills current. From the way things look we won't be out of the woods until December and I do want to start taking classes at my local community college again. I enjoy working in the kitchen, I really do, but I can't see myself doing this for the rest of my life. I want to continue working towards my degree, graduate, and get a job where I'm not constantly in danger of cutting, burning, or being trapped in the freezer in -0 temperatures(thank you random co-worker who broke the handle inside the freezer). Don't get me wrong, this is a nice temp job, but you have to be on your toes, as the people here aren't as vocal about hot pots, or walking around with knives as I'm use to. I'll be bringing this to my supervisor's attention today.  I also found out I'm the only ServSafe cook there, which explains why they keep showing me off the health inspector.>.> Hopefully they'll have the other cooks get their certifications, it makes us look bad to have only one person with their ServSafe .

Also this month is the end of my probationary period and my vision benefits kick in. I want my glasses dammit! I need to get them before I begin the fall semester and by then my medical and dental benefits will kick in.

Hubby will also be going back to school, although currently he's looking for another job so he can escape Walmart. Hopefully he can get a part-timer so he can attend school full-time since I can only attend part-time as my job is full-time and I don't think I can handle the stress of working full-time,  going to school full-time, still have time for hobbies, and and be able to get my pets the attention they deserve.

I really would like to hit up another con, but I doubt I'd have the time until next year, oh well. Priorities! More of the fur community needs them.>.>

moving, school, work, tired
