I've been watching "General Hospital" for as long as I can remember. There were breaks every now and then, but I was exposed to it at a young age. Both my grandmother and my mother watched it. Growing up, there were many things I looked forward to: my birthday, the last day of school, holidays. And in keeping with the holiday theme, I spend a Friday night during the Christmas season watching this special on CBS. It never gets old, either. And while I have it on DVD, there's something about watching it in real time as it airs on TV.

There's a funny parody of the song "The 12 Days of Christmas" called "The 12 Pains of Christmas." The 11th item on that list is "stale TV specials." There are many holiday shows and movies, but some never go stale. Instead they are like a fine wine, and only get better with age. And I think this is one of them.

Way back when I was a little girl, HBO used to air "Fraggle Rock" every night at 7 PM. And during the holiday season, the channel would air this classic.
