Music soothes my soul

Blast from the Past
I had to catch up on something for work before I take a few days off (Woohoo!), and I was listening to the soundtrack I made for my hanfic, "Faces of the Heart." That was something I really enjoyed, finding the right song with the right sound that would envoke the right emotions in a scene. Maybe that's what I should've been: the person who picks out songs for movies. Do you think only having 4 years of clarinet lessons in middle school would've hurt my chances? lol Probably, but I think my years of dance are what gave me ability to do that. To this day, I still love the way music can make me feel, and how it can make me get out of my seat and dance.

Musical Feet
Had a great tap class tonight. Got a good workout in, learned a new routine, and even got to assist the teacher with some of the students. I feel like a totally different person when I walk into the studio. I have more confidence. There's so much in my life that I'm unsure, just so many uncertainties in life in general. But when I walk into that studio, I know dance, and I know I am home. And I am so lucky to have that. A few years ago my teacher said, "I thank God every day for the dance in my life." Oh, how right she is!

It's in the Genes
Vincent loves music. He loves music, he loves to sing songs with me, he loves to dance. And I can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon than doing those things with him. He likes a good, strong beat in his music. He likes classic rock, but also likes to rock out. He pumps his fist to Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" and will tap his foot in time to Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus." And then we'll sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." LOL

dance, parenthood, nostalgia
