it's electric... boogie woogie woogie woogie

It’s weird… Everything I’ve been freaking out about for months is actually over. I wish someone would have told me before that prom really ISN’T that big of a deal. It’s just a dance with people in fancy clothes and then hanging out with your friends in fancy clothes afterwards.

My day didn’t go as planned. I missed taking pictures at the Sculpture Garden because the MAC people lied to me at I sat at the mall for half an hour and didn’t even get my makeup done. When I finally got ready I met Sarah, Charlotte, Beckham and their crew at this random restaurant on Frazier Ave. It wasn’t “bad”… but it wasn’t that great either. They give you tiny portions of weird food so you can share with your neighbors. It wasn’t as uncomfortable as I thought it would be and everyone was really cool. Charlotte was so cute. She looked like an Italian socialite because of her tan and her antiquey jewelry.

I got to the prom a little after 8. About 2/3 of all the people that were going to show up were there, but no one was really dancing. I met up with Colby and Michael (they both looked amazing btw) and I stayed mostly with them and their group most of the time. The dance was fun. I’m still too shy and self-conscious to actually try anything more than the Electric Slide, but I had fun watching everyone else. For like twenty minutes, we made this circle and all the best guy dancers there would jump in and do their thing. Tia’s boyfriend was amazing!! Then Gray and his pimpness was too.

After they announced who won what (Jerome-King, Kate Talmasehvich-Queen, Josh Claunch-Prince, Colby-princess), all my friends wanted to leave. It was only around 10pm and I felt like I just got there, but I wouldn’t have anything to do if they weren’t there. So Michael, Colby, Allison, Jessica L, and I went to Applebee’s with some of the seniors (April, Rashonda and Aretha) and their dates. A whole bunch of Tyner people showed up right after we did, so it got a little krunk. I saw at least thirty white tux variations… it was ridiculous.

After dinner we had an hour or so to kill until we wanted to get to Arlene’s house, so we took pictures in the parking lot for a while then went to Walmart. That was fun because everyone was staring at us and saying how nice we looked. We randomly ran into Kiwi so that was neat.

Apparently everyone went to Valerie’s house right after the end of prom, so not a lot of people went to Arlene’s party. We ate breakfast and sat around watching music videos. I got home a little before 3.

So now that it’s all over, I really wish I had brought a date because I think I would have had more fun.

I haven’t talked to Chris since his mom moved to Chicago… maybe I should call him at his grandma’s sometime to see how he is…

Anyway, I need to attempt to get back to my normal schedule and go to Lisa’s recital today.

Later peoples
