Today's #happything is related to yesterday's; it is another lovely, sunny, breezy day and I am changing all the sheets and have washing drying on the line. Nothing beats the smell of fresh bedding that was dried outside!

(as long as your neighbours don't have a bonfire or a barbecue, obviously...)

Yesterday's #happything: I hoovered the house from top to bottom. Prosaic I know, but it was overdue and it felt really good to get it done.

Despite having seen several pairs of frogs busy doing what pairs of frogs do in the spring in our pond a week or two ago, I hadn't spotted any frogspawn, and was beginning to feel sadly that either it had been too cold, or the pond had been too polluted by builders' rubbish, or something.

But then on Monday, a #happything - this!

Two #happythings for Sunday: I spent an hour or so in the afternoon doing more clearing of weeds in the garden (made me ache, but so satisfying); and I baked a cake. (Nigella Lawson's banana bread recipe. Often made in our house when bananas have got to that squishy state where they would be slightly unpleasant to eat - but delicious in cake!)

Today's #happything is that I have just put that lovely flowery new IKEA bedding set that I'd been coveting, and that the Resident Geek bought on his IKEA trip last week, on our bed. And am about to go and get in it :-)

Tuesday's #happything has to be the fact that after work the Resident Geek and I assembled a huge IKEA bookcase... without a cross word, at least not to each other (Quite a few were directed at inanimate objects!) Much patience required on all sides, but we did it, and got it safely bolted to the wall ( Read more... )

Have I shown you our porthole yet? We have a porthole window at the top of our upper flight of stairs.  I love it, and the view out of it (if I squint between the right pair of trees I can see the chapel at work on the top of the hill!)
