Let it Snow, Revisited

Even Proper-er Snow... about 4-6 inches here last night.  First Small Person's school closed.  FSP ecstatic. Fortunately, Resident Geek was planning to work from home today anyway, so after squeezing FSP into so many layers of clothing beneath his waterproof all-in-one that he looked like an overstuffed sausage, they dropped Second Small Person at the childminder's and went off to make a snowman instead.

I set off to work (on foot), which was a magical experience - I normally cycle along the road, but walked up the hill the back way through the woods and across the playing fields.  There's a tunnel where the path passes beneath overhanging trees which looked exactly like Narnia - I wish I'd had the camera, but I'd left it with the boys.  When I crossed the sports fields there were already half a dozen snowmen completed, including one six-footer - whoever made that must have got up as soon as it was light! (thereby demonstrating that snow can even get undergraduates out of bed before lunch...)

FSP and Resident Geek turned up to see me mid-morning, after spending an hour or so sledging on the playing fields just below the campus, which slope quite steeply - bigger kids were building snow forts from behind which to launch major snowball attacks!

More is forecast for tonight...
