Getting away
Finally managed to get our weekend bunking off sorted out!
My parents have offered to have both the Small Persons for the weekend (bless 'em) at the start of half term, so I've been trying to book a night away for me 'n' the Resident Geek. Nothing over-the-top, just a really good meal within staggering distance of wherever we're staying so we can broach a bottle as well, and potter about a bit visiting somewhere interesting...
but of course it's Valentine's weekend, so all the fancy restaurants/hotels etc in the area of Suffolk where I was looking either a) had doubled their prices b) were only taking two-night bookings c) were fully booked or d) all three.
But finally managed to sort a B&B in a village near Sutton Hoo (which we've never been to) a few hundred yards down the road from a highly-recommended pub which had only just started taking bookings for dinner that night, hurrah!
Counting the days to a slap-up meal and an unbroken night's sleep...
