Narnia Drabble: "In a town that’s cold and gray."
Okay, I'm tired, but I didn't want to go to bed until I posted this drabble. And, guess what? it's for 100foraslan (again!) prompt #9 - raindrops (song).

Summary: Lucy wonders if she'd ever see a day... that's warm and bright, instead of cold and gray.

Lucy sat silently on the steps of the platform; her heart aching and her mind racing.
The countryside’s train-station was empty and so was the road in front of her -just like the first time- and as she watched the rain fall relentlessly all over the place (and herself), she couldn’t help but wonder why?
(She was very grateful, now…)
Lucy hugged herself, rubbing her arms to warm up, and chuckled humourlessly, because, even though it was a warm, rainy day, she felt cold -so cold- and empty.
(…that her eldest siblings decided to elope together…)
It was funny how just last week the world looked bright and colourful and happy and so full of life to her, but now it was lifeless and gray and she felt numb.
(…and even more grateful…)
Laughter filled the air, breaking the silence with its merriness, and Lucy saw a young couple walking along the road, under the safety of an umbrella; she ignored them.
(…that good old Professor Kirke had understood them and allowed them to stay in his house…)
Then there was a loud and exited gasp and, suddenly, Lucy found herself looking into the faces of her eldest siblings.
So many things happened back then…
“Lucy! What a nice surprise!” her sister said, embracing her tightly.
…but he has forgotten…
Peter soon joined after. “Why, yes! We were just talking about you,” he laughed.
He looked so happy with her…
But she couldn’t bring herself to share their joy and they noticed it. Her vision blurred, Lucy began to sob and hugged Susan for dear life.
And she was really beautiful…
“Lucy?” Susan enquired, exchanging worried looks with Peter.
…like Queen Lucy, the Valiant…
Lucy laughed humourlessly, voicing the truth she wanted to deny.
…like me…
“Edmund is in love…”
