This is another drabble I wrote for 100foraslan prompt #8 - stars, but didn't quite made it to enter the challenge.

Title: "Painting the Clear Northern Sky"
Author: Me
Beta: hotfruits

Summary: Susan paints to remember.

Susan found out that painting was the best way to remember her life in Narnia.

She painted the Eastern Sea, to remember Queen Lucy, the Valiant; because her sister, Lucy Pevensie, was only a child and every day she resembled less and less the woman she had once been.

She painted the Western Wood, to remember King Edmund, the Just; because her brother, Edmund Pevensie, was a child too and every day he became more and more the kid he had been before Narnia.

She painted the Southern Sun, to remember Queen Susan, the Gentle; because Susan Pevensie was only a girl, whose only resemblance with the woman she had once been was her logical mind.

However, and no matter how much Susan tried, she couldn’t paint the Northern Sky so full of stars that she remembered.

Still, the memory of that beautiful night was engraved in her heart, and that was enough for her.

“To the Clear Northern Sky…” Susan trailed off, smiling softly.

High King Peter kissed his sister’s cheek.

“Did you see the stars, my dear Su?”

Queen Susan smiled, staring adoringly at him.

“Yes, I did… and I can still see them.”

~~~~~~
“…King Peter, the Magnificent.”
