back in black in bc
Got into the thriving Abbotsford airport last night (w/flights to 15 (!) different cities...) On the way, got to fly over a thunderstorm in Alberta- couldn't see any lightning, but loved the idea of seeing an event from the opposite side. Me and Ben reverted to our UVic days, drinking crown and coke, eating greasy pizza and watching baaaaad tv. Trying to come up with something to do today (i'm hoping for a repeat of batting cage and dance dance revolution like last time) Going over to Victoria tomorrow, then Osoyoos hopefully on sun night/mon.
Was trying to enjoy the lovely weather in Toronto in the last while, on monday, spent hours outside eating ice cream in the park and walking around queen st. Am amazed that at the number of hours I've spent on the Black Bull patio as well as the Bovine in the past month, particularly watching a certain someone go from detesting it, to being a regular, hmmmm.
Was working extra shifts at work due to the fact that my wonderful boss has given me a whole month off (think most of it is paid as well!!!) Love the fact that I still look forward to going into work, after a year in the kitchen, and that my boss and me complement each other so much (ie/he likes short vacations, knows that I need long ones, so we work it out to give each other time off) He's going to be opening a patisterie w/a french friend of his this winter, wants to keep Jules going as well, since it's such an easy money-maker, so I'll be running the kitchen in a few months, and I get to hire someone to do what I do now!
and I miss my old roomie who's galivanting throughout italy, hopefully without a care in the world! xoxo, sorry haven't called, time zones and boozing, y'know?
