So, I was chatting with my younger brother earlier, seeing if he was enjoying his 2 days off from school as mandated by the governor, and he mentioned that he was working on a project for his lit class. He has to write paragraph summaries of 21 Bible stories, as the Bible is now part of the reading curriculum in his class as a "literary tool." What is he writing about? Oh, the crucifixion, resurrection, and the holy spirit, among other things. Are any other religious texts being used as literary tools? No. Does this piss me off? Yes. It's not like this is an elective course on the Bible that some schools have offered. This is a mandatory part of the curriculum. Total crap, if you ask me. Not that I'm guessing anyone in Columbia County will challenge it.
