“Nino?” “Earth to Nino?” “Nino, are you there?”
Nino jumped as he felt something poking his cheek. He pouted as he noticed that it was Sho. Why couldn’t it be Jun?
“Nino, what’s wrong?” asked Sho, starting to mother hen all over the sulking Nino, “Are you hurt? Did someone bully you?”
Nino shook his head, “I’m fine. I just want to be alone…” With that said, Nino folded his arms over his desk and laid on them. His plan was to take a nap and hopefully dream of Jun, Sho would return to his classroom and everything would be bearable.
If only Aiba hadn’t showed up.
“Nino~” sang the cheerful teen, “Are you going out with Jun today?”
“Who’s Jun?” asked Sho.
Before Nino could stop his friend from answering, Aiba cheerfully replied, “This hot guy that Nino’s crushing on, and he’s really hot, I mean celebrity hot, and Jun has a thing for Nino too,”
The look of disappointment on Sho’s face was the most pitiful thing Nino had ever seen. It was worse that kicking a puppy or leaving an abandon kitten in the rain combined. To make things worse, when Sho asked if he was dating Jun, Nino couldn’t deny it.
Without saying a word, Sho left his classroom, head hung and hair covering his red eyes.
“Why did you have to mention Jun in front of Sho?!” yelled Nino as he grabbed Aiba by his collar and shook him hard. It took Aiba a whole minute to digest what was going on and what he had done.
“I… I didn’t realise!” stammered Aiba, “I’m sorry, Nino!”
Nino would have immediately gone after Sho and explain the situation to him, but just as he was about to leave his classroom, the bell rang and Nino’s teacher arrived. Left with no choice, Nino slumped in his seat, mind made up to seek Sho out after school.

Something was terribly wrong - Sho wasn’t in his classroom after school, nor was he at the library. Where could the older student? Sho would always stay back after school to do his homework and stuff, but why wasn’t he at his usual spot in the corner of the library?
Hoping that Sho had gone home, Nino headed towards the older teen’s house, only to have Sho’s sister answer the door saying that her older brother came home, dropped his things off before leaving again, saying something about taking the Yamanote Line.
Nino was puzzled. Why would Sho want to take that line? As far as he knew, Sho didn’t have any reason to take that train…unless…
“Jun…” breathed Nino as he dashed towards the nearest train station.
During the entire ride, Nino hoped he was wrong. Jun’s house was on that line, and Sho did seem quiet upset when Aiba mentioned Jun. But how did Sho know where Jun lived? Right, Sho has many friends from different schools, one of them was bound to know who Matsumoto Jun was.
Dashing towards the Matsumoto residence, Nino’s panic level rose when he noted that the front gates were open and that Sho’s shoes were at the door.
“No…” he gasped as he run into the house. Even before he got to the door, Nino could hear shouts coming from inside the house.
“Sho! Jun!” cried Nino. The moment he entered the house, the first thing he saw was Sho’s fist in Jun’s hair and Sho’s gripping Jun’s shirt, “Stop it!”
The two taller teens didn’t comply with Nino’s orders and continued throwing punches at each other instead.
“Why do you have to do that to Nino?!” screamed Sho.
“And what makes you think you are suited to Nino!”
“Nino and I have history together!”
“If you two are really compatible, you’ll be able to cheer him up!”
Their argument confirmed that it was his fault that they were fighting. He had to do something before anybody got hurt. Without thinking, Nino dashed up to the pair and tried to pull them apart. Little did Nino realize, Sho and Jun were taller than him, and not to mention stronger. The two taller teens didn’t noticed Nino coming in between them, but before they did, it was too late. Sho couldn’t stop his punch and Jun couldn’t stop his kick.
“Nino!” was the last thing the smallest teen heard before he blacked out.

“Nino…Nino…can you hear me?”
Nino thought he heard something as his eyes fluttered open. Everything was a blur and there was a weird bleeping noise in his ears.
“Sho…?” he croaked, voice dry and head spinning.
“I’m so sorry,” wept Sho, coming closer, “It’s all my fault,”
Nino tried to shake his head to reassure his friend, but his head felt really heavy.
“I’m sorry for acting so stupid,” continued Sho, looking thoroughly apologetic, and of course, hurt, “You should be with whoever you choose,” Pulling out two white, rectangular pieces of paper from his pocket, Sho placed them on Nino’s stomach, “I bought this tickets to DisneyLand for us. It also includes a free night at their hotel, you should go with whoever you want to,”
With that said, Sho got up and left, never looking back.
