Deodorant = breast cancer?

A trusted scientist and colleague that I work very closely to was talking to a research scientist friend of hers who informed her of a connection being discovered in malignant breast tissue and aluminum salts in that tissue. Apparently, in a study that this friend was privy to, all of the malignant breast tissues recovered (from men and women) had high concentrations of aluminum salts which is the drying agent in deodorant. I had heard of this concern before.

The comparison is not between higher than "normal" amounts of aluminum salt in breast tissue, it's the fact that our tissue is retaining more of this product than perhaps deodorant manufacturers etc had anticipated. I'm sure that we all have detectable amounts of aluminum salt in our breast tissue because it's hard to find a deodorant without one so it's possible that ALL malignant breast tissue has a certain level of it. The problem is that because it's so wide spread it is very hard to know what is the acceptable physiological level and when or if it becomes a larger health concern. But, we can make a choice because I'm not convinced that this deep tissue permeability of aluminum salts can possibly be shrugged off as harmless.

Adidas makes a deodorant line which I've found at wal-mart and one of them advertises a cotton micro fiber technology for anti persperant that uses no aluminum. Also, there's always the hippie deodorants like Tom's naturals etc. So it's out there. I like the Adidas one.
