This old map, found in the manuscript copy of Histoire de la mission du Kiang-nan, by Auguste de Colombel (1900), was reproduced in Gail King’s book on Candida Xu. Candida was the granddaughter of the famous Catholic educator Xu Guangqi (1562-1633), and the map shows the vicinity of his house around the time he hosted his first Jesuit visitor, ( Read more... )
