I had been considering a tattoo for a long time. A few years ago, I thought I didn't want something kind of generic that a lot of people had, what we called "moto tats" or "boot scars". Thinking on it though, part of what I love about the Corps is the solidarity and camaraderie, so not only do I see nothing wrong with getting a tattoo that many have, but it even seems more appropriate when seen in that light. I considered waiting until finding out for sure if I could reenlist, but I figured the longer I wait, the less likely it'll happen. Also, it's like a constant reminder to continue to strive.

A few years late, but behold, my boot scar.



It's on my right upper arm.
