I always intend to be a diligent blogger and actually post about the large (and small) events in my life but somehow they happen and then slip away before i get around to writing about them.  Such was the case with Christmas (and Thanksgiving and 4th of July and blah blah blah ad infinitum) so i'll try to sum it up with bullet-points.

Christmas was nice.

Need to lose some weight but in order to do so i need to stop shoveling lumpia into my pie-hole. I also need to stop shoveling pie into my pie-hole.

Today is a perfect example of a Northwest Christmas Eve. Grey, chilly, drizzly, and a bit breezy. Northwest Boy Choir is in the CD player (LET US OUT!!!), Duraflame log is flaming nicely in the fireplace, the Christmas tree is lit, the kitties are sleeping, and the presents are wrapped. As i drove through the darkened streets this morning at 5am I realized that I'd totally fallen for it; the trap that all retailers lay on Thanksgiving with their big glossy ads and fabulous deals. My Christmas shopping has officially begun. And this year, I will not underestimate the power of Ross for gifts. I usually go there to find pajama gifts, hats, scarves, that kind of thing. But i always forget that they have toys, fancy soaps, and housewares. It's going to be very Ross Christmas.
