Well, it's been a while since I've talked Harry Potter...

So, I have a Harry Potter confession to make - besides the fact that I'm still into the books and sometimes read/write fanfic. :P I don't know, once I like something it either goes away quickly or sticks forever. There doesn't seem to be much in between for whatever reason. There's still a part of me that loves books I read or shows I watched as a ( Read more... )

I would be able to give you a list of series you might enjoy, if you like? I have a thing where I can't help but tell people about books they might like. heh.

Also, are you on Goodreads?

Interesting confession. I must admit that I haven't ever read any of the Marauders fics, simply because I was never really interested in them in their school days. I think I've read a couple of Remus/Tonks, but they might have been secondary ship ... anyway, now I've gone and forgotten what I was going to write that related to your post. *face!palm ( ... )

I didn't think Castle really had much of a fandom!

I'm fine on shows themselves - it's more of a matter to have a place to really discuss them, or books, or movies, you know? And maybe that's the other thing. A lot of fandoms seem to be more about shipping, and that's not really what I want out of a fandom. I know HP fandom was a huge exception in terms of how big it was and how much there was to it, but surely there's some that are close? I just want some balance between shipping and discussion and I want fanfic that has ships, but is more than just that ship. Although admittedly with Castle that's a bit hard to do.

Also, re: BtVS, I have my own confession: I hate Buffy. She is so annoying and I kind of want to slap her, and I'm only up to the third season. That's bad, right? o_O

A lot of people don't like Buffy. I kind of figure though that sometimes you really can't like the hero, because if they were 100% likable they couldn't make a lot of hard choices. Then again, even though I like Willow as a character, I don't like her ( ... )

Have you tried any LJ communities or fan sites? A lot now have Facebook pages too, so that might be something? :)Yeah, but they actually seem to be just O_o about actual discussion these days, for whatever reason. I made the mistake of asking why there was no discussion at one, and the response was basically "um wtf would we talk about?" I find a lot of communities are much more based around the actors or whatnot, as opposed to being fannish. Even TV discussion posts will even be void of comments, or if it's a reaction post, nobody will say anything once the episode is over. Other places are so cynical, and I kind of get the feeling it's "cool" to hate all of the characters and stuff ( ... )

This is funny because I was the same way about Remus in high school. He was my faaave along with Snape haha. My best friend and I used to call each other Padfoot and Moony.

My friends and I used to do that, though not high school friends, fandom ones. I did have one friend who I'd discuss the books with, though - we had this huge conversation on how arithmancy is so similar to divination, yet Hermione loved one and hated the other.
