Sinus surgery

Woah. I had septoplasty, turbinate reduction and functional endoscopic sinus surgery. Whee. Basically I've had these horrible sinus headaches for years now and I finally wanted to try something to alleviate them. The nasonex, flonase, claritin, sudafed, allegra, and various decongestants were not working. I'm finishing day two of recovery today. Basically as long as I stay on the pain meds (percocet) I feel ok. As soon as they wear off - OUCHY.

This was my first surgery. It was quite an adventure. The nurses were all so friendly and comforting. I got my first IV put in and they even gave me cocaine! Yes, I asked the nurse is it really cocaine and she said, "oh yeah, it restricts blood vessels in your nose and prevents bleeding." And my heart rate and blood pressure were elevated because of it.

Oh and I met a nice guy Devin recently and he's been so awesome and keeping me company during my recovery. Also Travis was my little guardian during the surgery and he did a great job. Thanks Travis!

Ugh, time for more rest.
