*roar* Stupid internet *roar*
Well, it's been a fun week. For what ever the reason, this time of year my internet connection just really SUCKS. Everything takes twice as long to load & quite a bit refuses to load or loads incorrectly. Not sure why but this happens every May. A couple of former co-workers told me that they noticed their connections get sluggish too. Maybe it's all the people about to graduate doing searches for jobs &/or colleges.
Which has caused my computer to screw up it's updates. Yipee. Firefox got updated but not quite right. Another update can't be even be done for one of the plug-ins. The first attempt, it kept losing contact with the page it was downloading from & giving weird messages. After 4 hours, I gave up. The second attempt, I got the "timed out" message. I didn't even try again. Pretty much had given up at that point. I knew firefox was a little messed up & really needs to be uninstalled/re-installed. And then there is the disappearing available memory... Something is going on but I don't know what.
So the computer is going over to Bob's on Friday to find out what is going on with it. I managed to back-up all the information I needed to keep. I even have a spreadsheet with all the pages I use online plus a list of the plug-ins I use. So all my book marks can be cleared out & I won't lose anything. As I was doing that, I had an actually useful thought. After I finish using it to get back all the pages I visited & I going to clean-up the list & include more information with it. So in the case of bad stuff happening, some one can do something about my online stuff. I have this information written down in a notebook but this set up would be much easier for them to use. Heck, there stuff on that list I don't even use anymore.
Hmm...maybe I should go find that list & check the sites I no longer use. If the sites are still active, I probably should delete or close my account there. I know I have accounts that I haven't used in probably around 5 years. Like that Cosplay.com one, never really cared for that forum- never got any of my questions ever answered on that site & kept running into elitists-wannabes & trolls on there. :P
