So I went shopping to get the little things needed to finish costumes. I actually found what I wanted too. Plus other stuff I DID NOT NEED. *sigh* The allure of a pretty color in a fabric I love to sew with... Yup, bought stuff I shouldn't of. I was weak. But...I already have it cut out & sewn together. All I need is to hem it & add trim. I even found stuff that I had that can be used as trim. And am pretty sure I have what's needed for accents.
The fabric is a shade of teal in stretch/crushed velvet. (Not that expensive. And I had a coupon.) What I plan on using for trim are the beads from a "belt" that I never really understood HOW it could be used a belt. (It was pretty...just looked stupid any time you TRIED to use it as one.) It has several beaded braids that would look great as the trim. I'm planning on going with a peacock theme for this. How for I'll take it...I don't know but considering money, I'll probably not over do it.
I got some white mesh I needed to add to an older costume. (Yay! Cheap & easy sewing!) I got the leaves needed to finish the "Autumn" dress. Now I just have to attaching the trim pieces with snaps so I can remove them for washing. Since the trim pieces will have the leaves attached to them...washing those would be a bad idea. But dang it's boring work. :)
So my allergies have flared up this morning...which is WHY I have to laugh at myself. I could NOT get into my allergy meds. The really sad part? The pills were hardly in a child-proof container. But it still took me over 5 minutes trying to get the pills out of the packaging. The fact that I was laughing as I was trying to open it didn't help. I just couldn't help it because it was just so silly. The pills were the children's version of Claritin. Which is what made it so sad that I couldn't get the packaging open.
