I've always loved the elegant scrollwork on vintage box offices. That one makes me envision the neck of a giant Victorian violin.

Non-fat half-and-half? How is that possible? What's the other half? Froth? Air? Anti-milk?

I half to go back to the store to read the microscopic ingrediant list before I answer. Anti-milk is a good guess.

I remember going to both the Loyola and the Paradise growing up (the Paradise building also used to be a theatre). The Loyola had more family movies, and I saw a lot of the early 1960s Disney stuff there.

[Yes, I grew up in Westchester/Playa Del Rey]

I grew up in Mar Vista. We took Sepulveda Blvd. to visit my cousins in Torrence. I remember my first ride through the tunnel that goes under LAX. Are you old enough to have played in Ballona Creek before it was paved?

Don't remember that, but I do remember as a young boy going onto the Gas Company property, and playing in "the swamp".

I know people who were at the NAAFA conference.

Old movie houses are dear to me, filled with memories and dreams. The design and decor sing out.

The conference was smaller than others, but I enjoyed it. Perhaps we have a few mutual acquaintances?

Joyce Mudd, Cathy Miller?

Yes, I know both of them. I saw Cathy, but not Joyce. I own two of Joyce Mudd's sculptures. I met her at the first fat conference I attended, a women's gathering in the S.F. Bay Area in the mid-nineties. I've bought clothing from Cathy when she was running Big On Batik.
