Day 3:
118 miles
3 states
midnight bedtime.
Maine was wonderful, once i got there. Not that tolls didn't try, combined with their evil twin traffic. but, two hours late, i got to the enk summer house. it was freezing, so there was no beaching, but we did have the world's cheapest meal at mulligan's. $4 for a ham steak dinner? yeah, i'll take that.
jenna got me an ice cream cake for my birthday, and put brownie pieces on it, with star candles. it was a great start to international birthday month :)
we let the dinner settle in our stomachs while watching signs with rett's aunt, uncle, and cousins. around 10pm we started playing beer pong. and jenna was pouring vodka in my cup. which means around midnight i was done for and ready to pass out. so i did :) because it's vacation and i can do that.
and i slept in a real bed. which is....something i don't do often. so it was nice.
i am getting better at sleeping alone.
still don't want to.
but, lordy, beds are nice. maybe i'll get one when i return.
woke up at 10am, and had breakfast made for me by rett's mom - french toast and ham. yum-o. followed by ice cream cake. breakfast of champions.
we spent the day on the beach, which was feet from the house, so that was nice. i was not whored out to rett's cousin, so that was nice, too. and we got cheese dogs and cheese burgers at rapid ray's, and that was super nice.
eventually we talked ourselves into going to tjmaxx so jenna and i could continue our tradition of bra shopping together :)
now we are back in boston, and i have half a pound of shaved ham and thin sliced muenster cheese. i know this trip has not been spectacularly eventful, but i am ok with that. spending summer nights goofing around with friends i rarely see is wonderful enough for me.
