Day 2:
310 miles
5 states
1am bedtime
despite New Jersey's best efforts to destroy me I finally made it to Brooklyn, about an hour late. Well, really two and a half hours late. I managed to make it to the final three songs of the Gogol Bordello set, which is becoming a trend for me and New York City. I had a beautiful evening at alligator lounge with myra, skes and schnitzel :) we had free pizza, good drinks, and hipsters galore. we went to the Brooklyn Bowl to watch the GogolBordello after party - it was pretty awful. Not good-Awful like usual. Just awful-awful. They have to just let Pedro do his thing, for real.
Then it was off just skes's place in Cortelyou. and she has a beautiful apartment which I am super jealous of. Although it is in the middle of nowhere Brooklyn. we hung out, saw the cats, and then I realized it was 3 AM and we were supposed to wake up at 9 AM so I can get on the highway to get up to Maine. so I went to bed :)
day two has been fairly simple woke up late, of course, stopped at the bodega to get New York City bagels and boars head muenster cheese.
I have been in various states of stop and go traffic since leaving Brooklyn. Connecticut has some seriously beautiful roads. it's like driving on butter. too bad the traffic comes to a standstill every time you come near even a small city. can't wait to get to Maine. can't wait to see Jenna and Rett. can't wait to see what else this vacation brings me. I am already $100 down, but who's counting?
