So I'm working on my handouts for October University in Atlantia, and I thought I'd be egotistic and throw out my writing process for anyone who's thought about teaching a class, or who teaches, but wants to know about how I write my handouts.

I am way too much of a grammar and spelling mole; I have to work mightily to not correct people on the intarwebs when they use incorrect homonyms, use semi-colons willy-nilly, or phonetically spell a wurd.  But I don't, because that's rude, and being rude is a far worse sin than typing "congradulations!".

Mostly it went very well; the room was a bit too small for us to set up the way we wanted to, but we managed, and the room requirements go on the list for next time.  We transport a hell of a lot of materials, and without the help of lisettelaroux , fabulous apprentice, it would have been a lot more work for Bob.  We did a full day of talking, ( Read more... )
