We went to a lovely party at pinkleader and her inestimable husband's house, to say goodbye to kass_rants and Bob, as they get ready to start the next stage of their life in St. Croix.  It was delightful meeting the greyhounds for the first time, and we're going to miss you guys!  Of course, I still have plans for new patterns.

I took down all the Christmas decor this morning (well, last night and this morning).  It's a new year, same old me (I have no intentions of changing).  One resolution I actually made and intend to keep is going back on the strict gluten-free diet I was not following at all last year, because the insomnia is back to pre-diet levels, and I'm tired ( Read more... )

So, thanks to a broken washer, none of our laundry is done, but because we're retired, it's not a disaster, even though once it's fixed (next Monday), I have epic amounts of laundry.  Bob is going out to the local laundromat tomorrow with a load of essentials, but the rest can wait.

Sorry - I've been recovering from Pennsic, and then getting new teeth put in, and recovering from that.  The three crowns on the left side are now set in with temporary glue, just to make sure that the teeth underneath two of them aren't so nerve-damaged that they need root canals.  Once I decide whether they're too ( Read more... )

So, we're off really early tomorrow morning to watch a case being tried in Richmond*, then off to the farm.  We're being joined this weekend by cathgrace , anselmatthews , and Emmy and Isaac, and I'll be playing with the kids while our dear, dear friends will be helping Bob with mudding and taping the garage.

I always find it interesting that it takes me days to recover from even pleasant weekends that are busy.
