The BBC made a documentary called 'Aristotle's Lagoon',about Aristotle's 'History of Animals'- a groundbreaking zoological/biological work that has been largely forgotten.
It is of particular interest to me, as it is filmed on Lesvos, the site of Aristotle's work, and also my heart-home. I'd recommend watching just for the background- the stark, ( Read more... )

If anyone on my flist likes intelligent, tense, well-crafted and acted crime/thriller stories (and doesn't mind them being in Swedish), then I cannot recommend this week's Wallander enough. Wallander is good all of the time, but this week...bloody hell.

So I watched the first episode of the new BBC 'Sherlock' series yesterday.

As per our family tradition, when I was back home this weekend, we had a Eurofeast (Polish beer, Scottish salmon, Irish Soda bread, lasagne, pilaf, Greek salad, creme caramel & baklava) and watched Eurovision.
It wasn't quite the show of extremes it is usually, but it was still fun :)
