The BBC made a documentary called 'Aristotle's Lagoon',about Aristotle's 'History of Animals'- a groundbreaking zoological/biological work that has been largely forgotten.
It is of particular interest to me, as it is filmed on Lesvos, the site of Aristotle's work, and also my heart-home. I'd recommend watching just for the background- the stark, ( Read more... )

So, went to see 'Oedipus' at the National Theatre today and oh, it was good.

Very simple but striking set and costume, a chorus that acted properly unified and sang.
Personally, I didn't think much of the Jocasta, but she wasn't too annoying and kept mothering Oedipus throughout the play at time which was suitably creepy.

1st night went wonderfully!
We had to turn about 60 people away so we're doing an extra matinee performance tomorrow!!! This is so amazing! I am so happy!!!!
There is talk of taking it on tour later in the year as well.

I am without a shadow of a doubt in the right place...
