I've been really good about actually taking the photos for the "picture a day" thing, and pretty good about uploading them to Flickr, but not so great about getting them here.

Ah well. At least when I do update, there is a lot to look at.

I am at the tail end of a six-day long staycation.

My work vacation year runs from April 1 to March 31. At the beginning of the calendar year, I had a week left of vacation time that I hadn't allocated yet. I used two days when we went to Edmonton for New Years, so that left me with three days.

We're well into February, and our winter has been rather mild so far. (As these things go. We've still had bouts of windchills around -50C, and weeks of temperatures hovering around -20C.) It's not the brutal cold of last year, and we've hardly gotten any snow at all ( Read more... )

Oh goodness - almost a week already. Where has the time gone?

Not too much has happened, but I have continued with the photos. Now you can share the non-excitement.

On Friday we went for Korean. I got bi-bim-bap, shown here. plonq got some spicy chili rice cake stew. They were both good, as usual.

I'm keeping up with the photos... Having a portable camera (ie, my phone) in my purse all the time makes it easy to take impromptu shots of things. I am forgetting to post the photos, though.

Still here. Chugging along.

I think the raw edge is off the grief and has just settled into noticing the hole. Evenings are the worst: Jaws would join me for teeth brushing and face washing, waiting for me to give her a bedtime snack. Not seeing her waiting in the back hallway for me is still weird.
