Still More Of What Astro's Watching
I'm still making my way through Pinky and the Brain, mostly while exercising on the treadmill. This really is one of the best cartoons ever. Some of the references are pretty dated, but otherwise I swear it's just gotten funnier since the 90s.
Currently amusing me almost as much as any of the jokes, though, is the inescapable fact that, dude, Pinky is one of the kinkiest characters I have ever seen on television. Seriously, the little guy loves pain, and is canonically turned on by creatures something like a thousand times his size, including a horse and a sea lion. Also, he is in an abusive, codependent relationship with a megalomaniac. Which somehow manages to be sweet and adorable.
And they call this a kids' show. Heh.
