Oh, look, the icon meme is going around again! Still. As always.
I can never resist this thing, despite the fact that almost all my icons are stolen from other people. So:
1. Reply to this post with "ICON ME", and I will pick five of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

These are Decimas, as seen in an episode of Blake's 7. They're a race of servants genetically engineered by asshole aliens. They really do sort of look like little cabbage people, but while they might appear rather cute, in a cheesy kind of way, by the end of the episode they're basically dancing around kicking human skulls across the floor. Because Blake's 7 is like that. I think I use this icon mostly when talking about rubber-suited "special" effects. Or sometimes about wrath. Or vegetables.
It's by

This is a picture of Happiness, the oldest of my three cats, taken when she was a kitten. She's fourteen now, which is rather difficult to believe. I have no idea where the time goes.
She's sitting on a bookshelf here, which is unsurprising since my house consists almost entirely of bookshelves.

This is a petroglyph (rock carving) that can be seen at the Anasazi Indian ruins at Chaco Canyon, in New Mexico. It's believed to be a representation of the supernova that formed the Crab Nebula in 1054, since the star is in the right position relative to the moon, the ruins date from the right era, and the Anasazi people were pretty astronomically savvy. I'm not sure about the handprint. I think it's supposed to be the artist's signature, but I might not be remembering that right.
I've actually hiked up to see this in person. It's not quite as big as it looks in the photograph, if I remember rightly, but I found it very impressive, all the same.
I made this icon myself from a picture I found online somewhere, and use it occasionally when I'm talking about New Mexico (where I live), or possibly about history or astronomy.

This is from the video game Portal. At each level, the player is handily presented with a sign depicting what kind of hazards there are on that level that can kill you dead, including energy pellets that fly around and, if you're not careful, hit you. There's something about this particular pictograph that always kind of cracks me up. It seems as if it should be a very useful and expressive icon for those days when life smacks you square in the face, but I keep sort of forgetting I even have it. Maybe that's a good sign.
I also made this one from an image I found somewhere online.
5.
This is Camelot, from the Merlin TV series, with a quote from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I somehow never seem to get tired of combining those two things, so obviously I had to snap up the icon. It's useful when talking about Merlin, or about, I don't know, special effects or models or things that aren't real. Or castles or Monty Python, I guess, not that these are topics that frequently come up on my LJ.
It's by
batgurl88, and I believe I found it on an icon community somewhere.
