Still More Of What Astro's Watching

I'm still making my way through Pinky and the Brain, mostly while exercising on the treadmill. This really is one of the best cartoons ever. Some of the references are pretty dated, but otherwise I swear it's just gotten funnier since the 90s ( Read more... )

"Pinky, are you thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Yes, but I don't know, Brain; rubber pants chafe me so."

I think that Pinky and the Brain may be my favorite cartoon ever. And it may be among my Best Beloved's favorite ever. I think the cartoons may approach genius. Sort of. Heh.

How much do I love Pinky and the Brain? Well, I have Pinky and Brain cloisonne pins, and we have a Pinky and the Brain beer mug. Only one, alas, since our second one was broken . Also, we named one of our (sadly now departed) kitties Mr. Perkins (an unassuming motorist.)

Yeah, we're sad gits. Heh.

Hee! Yes, Pinky also often seemed to be pondering somewhat naughty things. Although possibly that is just my dirty imagination combined with his complete lack of a sense of appropriateness. :)

And I do believe I agree about it approaching genius. Indeed, it is both genius and insane.

I am in awe of your fannishness, and also jealous of your swag. I did used to have a "The Brain for President" t-shirt back in college, but, alas, it was loved to death many years ago. I have a friend who could certainly rival you for enthusiasm, though, as Pinky & the Brain is pretty much his favorite anything ever. He used to have a personalized license plate on his car that said "CORTEX" in the Brain's honor. :)

The wonderful thing about all the naughtiness Pinky exhibits is that it just seems so darned innocent. Yes, innocent naughtiness. Hmmmm ....

I am jealous of your friend's personalized license plate!

NARF!

It is a great cartoon, subversive on so many levels.

It really is. Definitely one of those cartoons made as much with adults in mind as kids.
