Hopeful Monster, which I highly recommend), and was

added to that, the only one I can think of off the top of my head is that in Playthings, the way I looked at the room it was set up like when you walked in the door the beds were on the left and the opposite wall to your right. that wall is the one with the creepy wedding dress hanging on it, and when Dean sort of backs up and sits/falls onto the bed like he does I automatically thought of that being the one closer to the door. Also, later when Sam is drunk his bed looks more toward the back corner of the room to me. The bar toward the front corner, Sam's bed across from it to the back. I think you can even see a wall against the right side of his bed (from our vantage point.)
Unless, you know, Dean pushed Sam down into HIS bed and that's why Sam tries to make out with him. Which could TOTALLY BE THE CASE.

That first scene when Sherwin is shaming Dean into a tip -- Sam goes towards a bed that is relatively far off to the left and starts putting his stuff down. Behind Dean's back you can see the tall windows and the funky table lamp.
Then we have Dean staring at the wedding dress on the wall, and to his left there is a brass footboard and the daylight is coming from the left, and the room door is off in the wall on his right. Then Dean turns around and walks back, past the first bed, and goes fwomp on the second bed further from the door, with the lamp visible to the right of the bed.
Except that farther bed is the bed that Sam was dumping stuff on when they first came into the room.
And when he comes back after the lawyer guy is hanged, Dean totally does push Sam down on the bed nearer the door, which is right near the chair Sam was sitting in. So, I TOTALLY think you are right and it is Dean's bed, and Dean put Sam into it to sleep. \o/

But, you know, if someone wanted to carefully check the episodes to see if Dean *does* go through doors first and provide visual evidence, I wouldn't *mind*.

Mmmm, thinking of gooey chocolate chip cookies and my minds drifts to what Dean was thinking about while he was in Sammy's bed using the Magic Fingers. Look, my icon provides a handy visual reference.

However, your icon consoles me for ALL THINGS.

Which is especially cruel considering Sam's monstrous legs.

Or because of his fear, he needed to be able to get up and walk around.

...I really love this explanation a whole lot!
Actually, I was a little surprised that Dean was on the inside bed when I watched the episode for the first time. Then I realized there were overtones of it not being safe for Dean to go out, so he was all cooped up inside, and, looking back on that, it makes sense for him to be the one more in need of protection at that point, hence the innermost bed.
(Although I really, REALLY like the idea of him getting his feelgood on in Sam's bed.)

Sure, in this case it would have been a practical choice as well - keep him away from the window so no one can spot him and call the cops - but even so, I like the implications it has for the mindset of the brothers and especially that they take turns in their protective roles (rather than it being all one way, from Dean to Sam as some people argue).
