I'm sure maybe four people on my friends list even care about this, but I have nothing much else to post about so here we go.
"S.F.3.D original video: Nutrocker"; English & German dialogue; Japanese subtitles.
http://www.deadfrog.us/index.php?act=entry&id=7035 This short film is based on Kow Yokoyama's "SF3D"/"Maschinen Krieger" series of design illustrations and model dioramas, originally published in articles in Hobby Japan magazine in the 80s. Tons of stop-motion animation, like the first Terminator movie.
The story follows a rebel SAFS ("Super Armored Fighting Suit") pilot stranded alone after a battle between the Strahl Democratic Republic military and the "mercenary forces" of the rebellion against Strahl. He heads for cover after spotting a Strahl land-hovercraft, a "Nutrocker". The Nutrocker is massive and tank-like, but still far outmatches the powered suit in speed, and can easily detect the SAFS. Fortunately, the pilot can talk to the SAFS like Luke talks to R2-D2. Unfortunately, he's bickering with the computer like they're married, he's only got three charges left for his laser, and his athlete's foot is itching like crazy.
